We all know that handbags are every girl’s best friend, as they carry all our important items while also still considered as a fashion statement that can help make style. With this in mind, handbags become more essential to women because it’s impossible to go anywhere without them, reason being that you’ll never know what you may need later on.

While it’s quite expected for women to carry handbags everywhere they go, what becomes more interesting is what items can be found inside a woman’s bag. We get to know our Womanity staff writers more personally, as they managed to let us in and disclose what they usually carry in their handbags:

Lwandlekazi Gwiji

This young writer says she makes sure that her handbag usually carries items which she might need throughout her day, whenever she leaves the house. These essentials include a lip balm for her lips to keep them moisturised; baby wipes to keep clean and for bathroom use; cellphone to keep her entertained throughout the day and taking pictures; bank card for purchasing; bubblegum for  fresh breath and tissue just in case she needs to wipe her nose or any other spills.

Onwabile Vakalisa

Onwabile says although her handbag items vary depending on that specific day, she does have main essentials that she always keeps in her handbag. She likes to keep feminine/ intimate wipes; a sanitary towel and panty liner for emergencies; hand cream to keep her hands moisturised and smelling good; lip gloss to keep her lips shiny and a pen just in case she may need to write or sign anything. 

Sithabile Mahlaba

According to this young lady, she usually carries small handbags however she manages to fit all her essentials. Her essentials include her wallet (which always has her ID, bank and shopping cards, with a little bit of cash on the side for transport); earphones to assist just in case she gets bored; an extra face mask; lipstick to keep her lips moisturised; tissue for wiping dusty areas or spills and her cellphone because she never goes anywhere without it.

Sinethemba Xaba

Sinethemba explained how she prioritises her safety first, by stating that the first important item found in her handbag is pepper spray. She further added that she always has cash just in case she finds herself in a situation that may need her to use cash or travel; sanitary towels for emergencies and tissue for anytime she might need it.

Ayanda Molefe

Ayanda says items found in her handbag are quite simple and few. Some of these are Vaseline to keep her mouth from getting dry; sweets and bubblegum for fresh breath; sanitary towels for emergencies and tissue for anything that might need to be wiped or cleaned.

While women have many things in common when it comes to items found in their handbags, there can also be many differences in terms of any other essentials they keep. Therefore after reading about what these young women keep in their handbags, you might also realise that some of the essentials mentioned could be what you’re missing in yours.
