Brenda Ngxoli
She is a veteran actress with multiple awards, motivational speaker, workshop facilitator and director. Brenda has been in the entertainment industry for more than a decade, and with that in mind someone would presume that’s all she does for a living. However, the star is also a crop and animal farm business owner in her home, Xolobe in Tsomo, Eastern Cape- where she visits to take a break from the hectic city life. Brenda Ngxoli is an example of women breaking boundaries, in order to reach another of success.
Noxolo Mathula
This young actress who’s especially known for her character ‘Lilly’ on the telenovela, Uzalo- is one person who doesn’t rely on her salary from the show to earn a living. This young entrepreneur is a proud owner of her food business ‘Hotdogs with Noxolo’, where she sells a variety of hotdogs and allows her customers to get bonus deals and take pictures with her. She began her side business during lockdown, and still operates around Durban.
Thando Thabethe
Apart from being a radio host and actress, this media personality has revealed to us that hard work pays off- as she is now a proud business owner of her lingerie store called ‘Thaboooty’s’, which offers different types of shape wear and underwear. Although she has achieved many things from being an entertainer, Thando has shown people that you can also be business savvy in whatever field you’re involved in.
Thembi Seete
Thembi Seete is a well-known presenter, actor, singer and businesswoman. She has done a lot of amazing things in the entertainment industry, however, she has also managed to accomplish many things as a business owner- who has founded several companies. Companies founded by Seete include ‘Azuri Beauty Bar’ which is a beauty brand, ‘Cleanup Enterprise’ which is a cleaning business and Dulge Lounge. Seete’s business moves deserve to be admired, as she continues to secure the bag.
Mapaseka Koetle-Nyokong
Wildly known for her fierce role as ‘Dintle’ on e.tv’s ‘Scandal’, Mapaseka is one of the actresses to have transitioned from acting to entrepreneurship. The award-winning actor is the founder of a coffee shop called ‘Grab n Go Café’, which she runs with her husband at the Sandton Gautrain station in Johannesburg. Mapaseka inspires women to be versatile and business minded.
Pearl Thusi
Best known for her entertaining personality in the industry, and being a mom of two- Pearl is also a successful owner of multiple businesses. The media personality founded the businesses, Black Pearl Hair which is hair brand that is available at Clicks nationwide, and The Black Halo Project which is a social enterprise that seeks to extend a helping hand to South Africa’s vulnerable woman and young girls. Pearl Thusi is one true definition of a go-getter.
These phenomenal women remain an inspiration and great role models to many women out there, as they continue to live and prove to us that success has no boundaries. They show us that it’s possible to turn any creative idea, into a business venture.
