Raised in the dusty streets of Nquthu, Bright Qedy Ngcobo finally launched BrightBeadz Online store on the 1st Of May 2021, she mentions that it took her about two years to launch the store seeing it come to life was a dream come true.
Bright Qedy Ngcobo was born in Richards Bay, Kwazulu-Natal raised by both her parents but later moved to Nquthu where she spent most of her life until after high school, they relocated to Durban. Growing up in a Christan family that that never associated with tradition, Ngcobo says having to sell traditional items may have came out as strange at first but when the calling has got you there is no turning back. “We were not allowed to go reed dances nor participate in any cultural activities but look at where I am now,” she says.
Working full-time as Team Manager at Bespoke International group which is one of the most successful call centers in Durban, she decided to use her earnings to start BrightBeadz, she does not rely on sponsors or donations. With the pandemic being a distraction, she took the decision to shift from traditional trade into social media where people are and most of her clients are from social media.
She says one of her favourite aspects of being an entrepreneur is how she has managed to create job opportunities for people.

It is that one stop shop for anything that shouts traditional, they specialize in designing modern beadwork designs, traditional outfits and homeware. The designs are suitable for all ages, from low-income earners too high-income earners. they work closely with crafters and fashion designer’s when sourcing their work and making out the designs. They are not employed by them but render the services when required to. The online store sells and hire out traditional outfits to individuals for different occasions, could be a weeding, a graduation, any special occasion. She has also won an award as Emerging Entrepreneur at the Sebenza Women Awards on the 21st of April 2021. “My top three skills that have made me become a successful entrepreneur are communication, discipline and paying attention to detail.”
