Winter may seem pleasant and beautiful to most of us, but that may not be the same for your skin. Most people suffer from dry skin; for some it may be severe and for others it may be a mild dryness. This is because of the low humidity levels in the atmosphere.
Here are eight tips to help you keep your glow this Winter:
- Put aside your oil fighting skin care range (moisturisers, toners, masks etc.) and use the oil-based skin care range, oil-based moisturisers or petroleum jelly.
- Avoid long hot showers. They will dry your skin out further. Rather go for lukewarm showers. You can add and apply some oil, prior to showering.
- Sunscreen is not only for the Summer sun. Winter sun can cause a lot of damage to the skin, so apply it before venturing out.
- Drink a lot of water to keep your skin naturally hydrated from within.
- Diet is the key – eat clean and green.
- Don’t lick or bite your cracked lips, always apply a lip balm or petroleum jelly to keep them moisturised.
- Humidifiers: if you can install one go ahead; it will help to keep the air around you moisturised.
- Put on your woollen socks, gloves and hat to protect your feet and hands from drying out.
