Having a career strategy is important. It can help you to manage the direction that you want your career to take, the job skills and knowledge that you will need, and how you can get them. Also, while formulating your strategy it is important to get a mentor. Mentors are not there to do the job for you; but rather to help you reach your destination sooner. Remember that they have walked the same path, so that puts you in an advantageous situation of not having to stumble as they did.

Know what you want and have a drive to get it!
